URDU DATA HOUSE : AN INTRODUCTION

Abstract

The Bank of Urdu (TBU) is a proposed corpus of Urdu text of both written and spoken language. The idea is basically taken from The Bank of English which is being used as the backbone of English language engineering, corpus and lexicon mdevelopment, and works of the same order. Issues of the formation of TBU are discussed in this introductory paper. Where the Urdu corpus must deviate from the standard roadways of The Bank of English, is specially dealt with.
