FUTURE OF LITERARY RESEARCH

Abstract

The renowned Urdu scholar is depicting the future of literary research in this paper. He gives all the credit to Edward Saeed, Roland Barthes, Michel Foucault, Paul De Man and Jacques Derrida for this critical scholarship, leading towards the studies of philology and culture. He also points out the destination of Urdu research in the light of literary theory and this new indication. He exemplifies the  need  of cultural  studies  like  Dr.  Ibne  Kanwal's  boo k a  Bostan-i-Khayal.  He argues about the need of sociological/culture knowledge for a student of Urdu literary research.
