Abstract


Allama Tajwar Najeebabadi had a multi-faceted personality. He was a distinguished poet, lexicographer, historian, teacher and a religious scholar. After the independence in 1947, he was appointed as librarian at Diyal Singh College Lahore. He also remained editor of important Urdu Magazines: Adabi Duniya, Shahkar, Akhbar Prem and Hamara Punjab. Urdu Markaz is one of the institutions that worked for the progress of Urdu, It came into  existence  with  personal  efforts of Tajwar Najeebabadi in 1925. In this article some hitherto hidden aspects of his personality are revealed.
